The Notes 1, Black Friday
The spaceship is on its way to earth and WashingtonDC and the crew is standing on the commando bridge when they hear the distress signal again.
-What is that, says Jennifer, why do they try to reach us again without a cause.
-We have to ask the computer about it, says Rihanna.
-The signal is sent by two people who are in the military, says the computer.
-What do they want, says Scarlett.
-They are investigating UFOs and have located strange activities on the moon, says the computer.
-UFO stands for unidentified flying object and now they are after us, says the computer further.
-We will be exposed, says Lindsay what should we do?
-They will reveal that we have the two only spaceships that have been built and used for space travels, says Rihanna.
-Big deal, we will confront them and make them shut up, says Jennifer.
-Its not that easy, says Scarlett.
-We will orbit the earth for a while with a cloaking device, says Rihanna.
They are now in orbit and invisible to the people on earth that is trying to detect them.
-Can we land and go shopping, its black Friday today, says Jennifer.
-Alright, I think we all need some relaxation, says Lily.
-Where should we land, says Eliza.
-Somewhere where the military can’t reach us, says Scarlett.
The computer then tries to find a place where they can land invisible; they find a place near a shopping mall in WashingtonDC where they hit the ground without a sound.
-Daniel do you have a Master Card, says Jennifer.
-Yes but am I the only one here with a card, says Daniel.
They move away to the gigantic shopping mall and strides through thousands of people that are going for the sale.
-This reminds me of “The Subliminal Man” by James Graham Ballard, says Daniel with the gigantic billboards that are giving us subliminal messages. When we leave the mall we will notice that we have bought things that we don’t need, for example cigarettes although we don’t smoke.
-That will not happen to me, says Jennifer overconfident as always. After that she rushes into a store with clothes together with 1000 people.
-We have to stop her, says Rihanna.
-She doesn’t have any credit cards and no cash on her so she can’t buy anything, says Marina who has worked in a bank.
Jennifer rushes back to the crew and says:
-Daniel can you give me your credit card I need to buy these, she says.
-Alright, says Daniel but only this one time.
After that Jennifer is rushing into an off license to buy alcohol. But Rihanna remembers the billboards outside that are flashing subliminal messages, she tries to stop Jennifer from buying anything more.
Jennifer is resisting and they have to carry her outside and they then move her back to the ship.
-I just got a strong impulse to buy things, says Jennifer and I don’t remember what, I just have to buy it.
-It’s the billboards that gave you hidden messages before you entered the store, says Daniel who then gives Jennifer a copy of Ballard’s short story “The Subliminal Man”.
-What should I do with this, says Jennifer.
-Read it and you will understand, says Daniel.
30 minutes later when the crew is standing on the commando bridge Jennifer enters the room.
-I have read it now but I don’t think this is what happened to me, says Jennifer.
-Have you bought things that you don’t need, says Daniel.
-Sure but I was in full control of myself, says Jennifer, besides I need a drink now.
Jennifer opens a bottle of brandy and pours a wineglass, the others also takes a drink after a hard day’s night. They watch the news on Jennifer’s TV and there is a story about some military people who claim they have spotted an UFO on the moon.
-Its your ship they have spotted, says Eliza to Jennifer you should have hidden it.
-Ok we can go back and hide it and then return to earth, says Jennifer.
-Lets do that tomorrow now we need some sleep, says Marina.

Rymdskeppet är på väg till jorden och Washington DC och besättningen står på kommandobrygga när de hör nödsignalen igen.
-Vad är det där egentligen, säger Jennifer, varför de försöker nå oss igen utan orsak.
-Vi måste fråga datorn om det, säger Rihanna.
-Signalen sänds av två personer som befinner sig i det militära, säger datorn.
-Vad vill de, säger Scarlett.
-De undersöker UFO och har hittat märkliga aktiviteter på månen, säger datorn.
-UFO står för oidentifierat flygande föremål och nu är de efter oss, säger datorn ytterligare.
-Vi kommer att exponeras, säger Lindsay vad ska vi göra?
-De kommer att avslöja att vi har de två enda rymdskepp som har byggts och används för rymdresor, säger Rihanna.
-Big deal, vi konfronterar dem och ber dem hålla tyst, säger Jennifer.
-Det är inte så lätt, säger Scarlett.
-Vi kommer att kretsa kring jorden en stund med och samtidigt vara osynliga, säger Rihanna.
De är nu i omlopp och osynliga för människor på jorden som försöker att upptäcka dem.
-Kan vi landar och shoppa, det är black friday idag, säger Jennifer.
-Ok jag tror att vi alla behöver lite avkoppling, säger Lily.
-Var ska vi landar, säger Eliza.
-Någonstans där militären inte kan nå oss, säger Scarlett. Datorn försöker sedan att hitta en plats där de kan landa osynliga; de hittar en plats nära ett köpcentrum i Washington DC där de träffar marken utan ett ljud.
-Daniel har du ett Master Card, säger Jennifer.
-Ja, men är jag den enda här med ett kort, säger Daniel.
De rör sig bort till det gigantiska köpcentrumet och stegar sig fram bland tusentals människor som kommer till utförsäljningen.
-Detta påminner mig om "The Subliminal Man" av James Graham Ballard, säger Daniel med de gigantiska skyltarna som ger oss subliminala budskap. När vi lämnar gallerian kommer vi att märka att vi har köpt saker som vi inte behöver, till exempel cigaretter, även om vi inte röker.
-Det kommer inte att hända mig, säger Jennifer tvärsäker som alltid. Efter det rusar hon in i en butik med kläder tillsammans med 1000 personer.
-Vi måste stoppa henne, säger Rihanna.
-Hon har inga kreditkort och inga kontanter på sig så hon kan inte köpa något, säger Marina som har arbetat i en bank.
Jennifer rusar tillbaka till besättningen och säger:
-Daniel kan du ge mig ditt kreditkort, jag behöver köpa dessa, säger hon.
-Ok säger Daniel men bara den här gången.
Efter det rusar Jennifer in en alkoholbutik för att köpa sprit. Men Rihanna minns skyltarna utanför som ger subliminala meddelanden och hon försöker stoppa Jennifer från att köpa något mer. Jennifer gör motstånd och de måste bära henne ut tillbaka till farkosten.
-Jag fick en stark impuls att köpa saker, säger Jennifer och jag kan inte kommer ihåg vad, jag har bara köpte det.
-Det är skyltarna som gav dig dolda meddelanden innan du kom in i butiken, säger Daniel som sedan ger Jennifer ett exemplar av Ballards novell "The Subliminal Man".
-Vad ska jag göra med denna, säger Jennifer.
-Läs den och du kommer att förstå, säger Daniel.
30 minuter senare när besättningen står på kommandobrygga kommer Jennifer in i rummet.
-Jag har läst det nu, men jag tror inte att detta är vad som hände med mig, säger Jennifer.
-Har du köpt saker som du inte behöver, säger Daniel.
-Visst men jag var i full kontroll över mig själv, säger Jennifer, nu behöver jag en drink. Jennifer öppnar en flaska konjak och häller upp ett vinglas, de andra tar också en drink efter en hård dags natt. De tittar på nyheterna på Jennifers TV och det finns en berättelse om några militärer som hävdar att de har upptäckt ett UFO på månen.
-Det är ditt skepp de har upptäckt, säger Eliza till Jennifer du borde ha gömt det.
-Ok vi kan åka tillbaka och dölja det och sedan återvända till jorden, säger Jennifer.
-Vi gör det i morgon nu behöver vi lite sömn, säger Marina.
